Building Better MenDelta Upsilon Fraternity has a long tradition at Syracuse University. In fact, DU was the second fraternity at SU and we were founded in 1873 in the Hall of Languages just three years after the University began.
Below are some benefits of joining DU at Syracuse University:
But we aren't here to sell you on our fraternity. We want men who believe in our core values and believe that lifelong friendships should be based on mutual respect and trust. If you want to be a part of a historic fraternity at SU then Delta Upsilon may be your fraternity. We encourage you to visit the DU International website and express your interest. |

The Delta Upsilon Chapter has a rich history at Syracuse University. We were founded at Williams College in 1834 and established at Syracuse University in 1873. The Alumni have contributed much to the re-establishment of DU at Syracuse and continue to support us. Here are some pictures of them enjoying there time at SU from formal to relaxing days in the sun. We've also included a picture of one of our notable alumni, Jim Boeheim.

IN OUR OWN WORDS
This story is a good example of what makes DU unique...
This story is a good example of what makes DU unique...
I was hesitant to rush fraternities because I didn't drink due to a kidney problem. I wanted to be a part of a fraternity but was nervous that I wouldn't fit in due to not being a big drinker. I didn't know anyone personally in DU but visited the house because I recognized guys from the dorm that were brothers and DU had quite a popular reputation. During the rush process I met some really cool guys in DU and felt "at home". It was important to me to be transparent with the brothers that I didn't drink so I told the Rush Chairmen and a few others my concern. I was told "that's OK we don't expect our brothers and pledges to drink, we don't force each other to do things...We don't haze at DU." I was so relieved to be accepted and protected by an amazing bond of understanding brothers. And much to my surprise, I wasn't the only guy who didn't drink in DU which was quite a paradigm shift of the stigma of "fraternity guys". Most importantly my parents were very impressed by the DU Brothers who accepted and supported me. Best decision I have ever made was to walk into 711 Comstock Ave in the Fall of 1987."
